Collections Associate

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a Collections Associate in Jacksonville, Florida. The role contacts customers to collect outstanding accounts receivable on orders, resolves customer billing problems and works to reduce accounts receivable delinquency. It is performed under general supervision, with work typically reviewed regularly by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers to find out why a payment is overdue and review the terms of sale, service or credit contract.
• Receive payments and post the amounts paid to the customer's account.
• Document the customer's financial status and the status of collection efforts, keeping records up to date.
• Maintain clear documentation of customer contact during collection or dispute processes and follow up on open disputes according to service level agreements.
• Resolve internal and external non-payment issues, invoice discrepancies and payments outside approved terms.
• Refer complex or unusual problems to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Generally 2-5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred; specialized skills training or certification may be required.
• Work environment is indoors, mostly sitting, with no travel required.
