Collection Associate

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a Collection Associate in Jacksonville, FL. The role contacts customers to collect outstanding accounts receivable on orders, resolves customer billing problems and works to reduce accounts receivable delinquency. It is performed under general supervision, following well-defined policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers to find out why they owe money and review their sales, service or credit contract terms.
• Receive payments and post the amounts paid to the customer's account.
• Record the customer's financial status and the status of collection efforts, keeping customer records up to date.
• Maintain clear documentation of customer contact during collection or dispute processes.
• Follow up on open disputes on time according to service level agreements.
• Resolve internal and external non-payment issues, invoice discrepancies and payments outside approved terms.
• Refer complex or unusual problems to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Generally 2-5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Specialized skills training or certification may be required.

The work takes place indoors, mostly sitting with frequent opportunity to move around, with no travel required.
