CMM Operator (Measurement/Inspection) – 2nd Shift

About the role

We are looking for a Precision Measurement Technician to work the 2nd shift at our York, PA plant supporting Navy Systems. The role involves non‑destructive testing, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) operation, and calibration of precision instruments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dye penetrant and magnetic particle nondestructive examinations.
• Set up, program, and operate the coordinate measuring machine.
• Adjust, calibrate, certify, and date measurement instruments.
• Audit, measure, record, repair, and calibrate gauges, jigs, fixtures, dies, assemblies, and tools.
• Conduct surface‑plate, optical comparator, and hardness test setups.
• Generate documentation for quality checks and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a federal or defense environment.
• Ability to work with light to average‑weight materials and perform detailed visual inspections.
• Strong analytical ability for statistical process control (SPC) and audit reporting.
• Good safety awareness and ability to work in noisy, dusty shop conditions.
