Club Cook 3 – Culinary Team Member

About the role

The Club Cook 3 joins the Food & Beverage Culinary Department at Makena Golf and Beach Club, part of Discovery Land Company. In this position you will support the culinary team by preparing food, handling deliveries, and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment. The role offers the chance to work with diverse ingredients and cooking styles while contributing to memorable dining experiences for members and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily set‑up and seasonal preparation of the culinary program.
• Stock and rotate food items, alerting the Sous Chef of low inventory.
• Prepare menu items across all outlets according to Executive Chef recipes.
• Operate work, salad, prep, and other stations as needed, maintaining pace and ticket flow.
• Perform vegetable chopping, meat cutting, fish filleting, and deboning.
• Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper temperature and safety.
• Maintain cleanliness of stations, equipment, and kitchen areas.

Required profile

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent vocational training (preferred).
• Minimum 1 year line or prep cook experience in a fine‑dining, luxury resort, or private club setting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive attitude, strong communication, and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle kitchen demands.

Required skills

• Food preparation and knife skills.
• Knowledge of a range of cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, including food‑handler certification.
