Clinical Nurse Manager - Progressive Care Unit

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager for its Progressive Care Unit. The manager reports to the Unit Director and the Chief Nursing Officer, is part of the Nursing Leadership Team and manages the overall operations of the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Manage unit operations and use staffing and material resources cost-effectively while delivering excellent care.
• Oversee hiring, performance reviews and disciplinary processes for team members.
• Ensure nursing practice follows evidence-based approaches and the ANA Code of Ethics, and meets the Florida Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Take part in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives and ensure quality outcomes.
• Encourage RNs to lead interdisciplinary teams and model current leadership techniques.
• Monitor the effectiveness of information shared with staff and enforce hospital policies and procedures.
• Serve on hospital and Patient Care Services committees, teams and work groups as requested.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a BSN (Masters degree preferred).
• Current Florida RN licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association; NIHSS training available through other providers.
• Recent 2 years' experience in a PCU and 1 year of leadership preferred; specialty certification preferred.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs, and to work in a stressful environment.
• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, TB/PPD surveillance and maintenance of professional licenses.
