About the role
The Clinical Counseling Intern will work under the supervision of an AZ Board‑approved Clinical Supervisor in a non‑profit behavioral health setting. The role involves participating in the full clinical intake process and supporting client care while completing graduate‑level internship requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct intake, orientation, and create/maintain client files.
- Participate in individual counseling, psycho‑education, and group sessions.
- Document assessments, treatment plans, discharge plans, and service notes.
- Assist clients with applications for government assistance, legal issues, and referrals.
- Observe and enforce internal policies, licensure requirements, and federal regulations.
Required profile
- Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program that requires an internship.
- Successful completion of background checks, TB test, CPR/First Aid/Narcan training, and other health screenings.
Required skills
- Well‑developed written and verbal communication abilities.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills.
