Clinical Assistant / Associate Professor – School Counseling

About the role

This non‑tenure‑track, 9‑month Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling begins in Spring 2027. The faculty member will teach graduate counseling courses, coordinate the School Counseling and Guidance program, and provide supervision and advising for counselor candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Teach graduate counseling courses in multiple instructional modalities.
• Coordinate the School Counseling and Guidance program and ensure accreditation compliance.
• Supervise field practicum experiences for school counselor candidates.
• Advise, mentor, and supervise graduate students.
• Develop course materials aligned with CACREP and Texas certification standards.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, Certified School Counselor, and a doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP‑accredited institution (or qualifying Rehabilitation degree) with 18 graduate hours in each teaching field.
• Evidence of excellence teaching in online or hybrid formats and experience advising or supervising counseling students.
• Licensed Professional Counselor (Texas) and Certified School Counselor.
