Clinical Applications Specialist - Northern VA/DC

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Clinical Applications Specialist to support surgeons and their teams in the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC area. You will train customers on the safe and effective use of Alcon’s cataract, refractive, and glaucoma surgical device products, both in‑person and virtually, to drive optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical and clinical training to ophthalmic surgeons and staff on Alcon’s surgical devices.
• Provide ongoing virtual and on‑site clinical support to embed Alcon technology into practice workflows.
• Present complex subject matter to surgeons, often in high‑stress environments.
• Train users on Alcon’s Digital Health SaaS platforms, integrating cloud and DICOM solutions.
• Collect and act on customer feedback, measuring training effectiveness via service promoter scores.
• Participate in medical congresses, conferences, wet labs, and other educational events as a subject‑matter expert.
• Collaborate with R&D to give feedback on new technologies and software.
• Assist in onboarding new Clinical Applications Specialists through on‑the‑job training.

Required profile

• Experience in clinical training or support for ophthalmic surgical devices.
• Strong communication skills for both in‑person and virtual settings.
• Ability to work independently while aligning training activities with commercial goals.
