Child Welfare Services Case Manager (Level 1)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 to join the Division of Family and Children Services in Calhoun. This entry‑level position supports the agency’s mission to protect vulnerable children and strengthen families across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Access and record client and community resource information.
• Assist in collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Identify placement resources for children within the foster care system.
• Compile records, prepare reports, and follow up on case status.
• Conduct home‑visit evaluations to gather information for assessments.
• Coordinate and monitor children in out‑of‑home placements and in‑home interventions.
• Perform initial investigations of protective services referrals.
• Collaborate with the legal system to ensure child safety and achieve desired outcomes.
• Maintain required documentation and complete reports.

Required profile

• Must pass the standard agency testing protocol for the position.
• Ability to conduct home‑visit evaluations and gather assessment information.
• Capacity to collaborate with the legal system and ensure child safety.
• Willingness to work both on‑site and via telework as required.
