Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is hiring an Adult Protective Services (APS) Case Manager 2 to protect vulnerable adults across Whitfield, Catoosa, Dade, Murray, and Walker counties. You will join a dedicated team that investigates abuse, neglect, and exploitation, ensuring safety and access to needed resources.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial investigations of APS reports and determine need for intervention.
• Assess risk levels and take appropriate actions to safeguard clients.
• Provide follow‑up, consultations, and referrals to stabilize situations and prevent recurrence.
• Initiate guardianship proceedings as a last resort for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit timely reports.
• Stay current on policies, laws, and trends through training and meetings.

Required profile

• Experience conducting investigations or case management for vulnerable adult populations.
• Ability to travel regularly to Gordon County for training and ongoing supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to upholding state and federal APS regulations.
