Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 to provide investigative and comprehensive case management for children and adults experiencing abuse or neglect. The position is based in Albany, Dougherty County, and reports to the Child Welfare Services Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities for prospective caregivers, ensuring alignment with regional plans and MEPA-IEP expectations.
• Facilitate quarterly foster parent pre‑service training and track caregiver onboarding to meet approval timelines.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly contacts, document them in Georgia SHINES, and manage caseload narratives within 72 hours of contact.
• Perform home re‑evaluations, needs assessments, service provision, and advocacy for caregivers while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to work under broad supervision and manage a caseload involving child/adult abuse or neglect.

Required skills

• Case management and investigative skills.
• Knowledge of recruitment processes and caregiver training.
