About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will lead all accounting, budgeting, and financial planning activities for a 25‑bed critical access hospital that includes a Long‑Term Care Unit, Assisted Living, and Rural Health Clinic. The CFO works closely with the leadership team to ensure financial stability, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership that inspires performance across health care delivery and business operations.
• Maintain effective relationships with medical staff to advance quality, patient safety, and satisfaction.
• Oversee operational management, ensuring smooth hospital functions, timely goal achievement, and financial viability.
• Ensure delivery of evidence‑based, value‑based care with high outcomes and patient satisfaction.
• Develop and execute strategic plans that support growth and sustain the organization’s mission.
• Negotiate and build strategic partnerships to position the hospital for regional success.
• Lead financial performance monitoring, analysis, and actions to achieve long‑term stability.
• Foster community relations and collaborative partnerships that benefit public health.
• Manage board relations, advising trustees on performance‑impacting matters.
• Provide HR leadership that aligns workforce with the hospital’s mission and values.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting requirements and represent the hospital with governing agencies.
