Certified Nursing Assistant – Pediatric Acute Care (Full‑time Days)

About the role

This position works collaboratively to maintain patient safety and deliver basic patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. The CNA provides constant observation of patients, notifies nursing personnel of any changes, and intervenes as needed to ensure safety.

Key responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse within the scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety criteria appropriate to the ages of pediatric patients.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Completes documentation of patient‑related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to respect patient privacy and communication preferences.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Louisiana Certification as a Nurse Assistant (CNA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (to be obtained within 60 days of hire).
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification (to be obtained within 60 days of hire).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) competency.
