Certified Medical Assistant – PRN, Surgery Clinic

About the role

This position provides individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. The Certified Medical Assistant supports the delivery of health‑care services in a fast‑paced surgery clinic, ensuring smooth patient flow and effective communication with patients, families, and the attending physician.

Key responsibilities

• Support the patient and provider throughout each visit, preparing rooms and equipment.
• Answer patient questions, provide clear explanations of services, and ensure patient satisfaction before discharge.
• Document patient information accurately in the company’s data systems, including registration and clinical notes.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and handle sensitive information in a fast‑paced environment.
• Communicate with patients over the phone to address needs promptly and accurately.

Required profile

• Clinical knowledge and ability to adapt communication style to diverse patient populations.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications for documentation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Medical Assistant Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
