CDL‑A Local Truck Driver – $31.55/hr

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a CDL‑A City Pickup & Delivery (P&D) driver for its Scott, LA service center. This full‑time position offers a starting pay of $31.55 per hour, a regular Monday‑Friday schedule, and the guarantee that drivers return home each day.

Key responsibilities

• Perform city‑wide freight pickup and delivery, returning to the terminal daily.
• Make multiple stops per shift, using scanning equipment to track shipments.
• Interact directly with customers and handle lift‑gate deliveries using an electric pallet jack.

Required profile

• Valid CDL Class A with at least one year of verifiable experience within the past three years.
• Clean driving record (no serious violations, no more than three moving violations in three years).
• Age 23 (or 21 if FMCSA transition criteria are met) and able to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and road test.
• Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty; dependable attendance.

Required skills

• Operation of electric pallet jack for lift‑gate deliveries.
• Proficiency with handheld scanning equipment for load tracking.
