Casualty Field Adjuster

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Casualty Field Adjuster in Atlanta to investigate and adjust property and casualty claims with little to no supervision. The position sits within a hybrid claims team handling both property and casualty losses and may act as a first responder adjuster for the Accident Response Team, giving immediate claim response and investigation support.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect claims and contact involved parties in a timely manner.
• Investigate the circumstances of claims to determine coverage, cause and compensable damages or reserves.
• Examine insurance policies and other records to determine coverage.
• Prepare estimates for the cost of repair and/or replacement.
• Interview claimants and witnesses and negotiate and settle 1st and 3rd party claims.
• Handle salvage and subrogation as required by the client and maintain client relationships.
• Investigate liability exposures and determine claim resolution strategies.
• Provide timely, accurate claim documentation, reserving and reporting, and support the organization's quality programs.
• Travel as required and take on-call duty for the Accident Response Team at the desk.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• IIA-AIC designation required; appropriate state adjuster license required.
• Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat or bend, work outdoors in hot or cold weather, and lift up to 50 pounds and pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to drive up to 4 hours per day and use manual dexterity continuously.
