Career Success Specialist – JCG Program

About the role

The JCG Career Success Specialist implements the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) model at a designated Cincinnati school. The role blends classroom instruction, counseling, career advising, and community engagement to help students graduate and transition to post‑secondary education, employment, or military service.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with students, families, school staff, employers, and community partners, serving as an advocate for student success.
• Deliver classroom instruction, counseling, and career planning services aligned with the JAG curriculum.
• Coordinate with an in‑school advisory committee and external partners to identify student needs, remove barriers, and provide remediation, work‑based learning, and college planning.
• Develop and execute an employer and community outreach plan to create speaker, field‑trip, and service‑learning opportunities.
• Provide twelve‑month post‑graduation follow‑up, verifying placement and supporting retention.
• Maintain accurate documentation in JAG data systems and report on enrollment, competency attainment, graduation, and placement outcomes.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Workforce Development, Human Services, Business, or related field (preferred).
• Experience working with youth, workforce development, mentoring, or community‑based programs (preferred).
• Strong presentation, facilitation, organizational, and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proficiency with computer technology, including word processing, spreadsheets, web‑based applications, and data entry.
• Ability to use data to drive instruction and program improvement.
