Calibration Coordinator

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Calibration Coordinator to manage gauge calibration activities within its aerospace manufacturing facility. The role supports production by ensuring tools are calibrated, tracked, and compliant with aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and maintain a master tracking spreadsheet of all tooling and gauges due for calibration and distribute updates to production stakeholders.
• Execute the weekly calibration cycle, pack and manifest outbound gauges, verify incoming inventory, and route calibrated tools to owners.
• Review and approve calibration certificates from third‑party vendors to ensure they meet aerospace metrics.
• Identify gauges that fail calibration, communicate results to Quality Engineering, and support failure containment protocols.
• Coordinate with specialty vendors for specialized calibrations, manage price quotes, and handle purchase order creation and logistics.
• Maintain accurate software records of tool ownership, storage changes, and lifecycle notes.
• Support internal and external audits by preserving certification records and providing history lineages.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of experience in tool shop management, inventory logistics, calibration coordination, or quality control in a production environment.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent assessment.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Proficiency with specialized inventory databases such as Gauge Suite.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
