Business Support Analyst – Law Enforcement & Emergency Management

About the role

The Georgia Department of Agriculture is seeking a Business Support Analyst to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Inspector General/Director of Law Enforcement and Emergency Management. This position plays a critical role in coordinating daily functions, managing records, and ensuring smooth agency operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day administrative assistance to the Director, managers, and staff, including schedule management and meeting coordination.
• Prepare, proofread, and distribute correspondence, reports, presentations, and spreadsheets.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper files in compliance with state records‑retention requirements.
• Coordinate travel arrangements, expense documentation, and related authorizations.
• Assist with purchasing activities, purchase orders, invoices, and other financial documentation.
• Support personnel functions such as onboarding documentation, leave records, and training records.
• Handle confidential information with discretion, especially regarding law‑enforcement and emergency‑management matters.
• Prepare statistical reports, logs, and administrative summaries.

Required profile

• Associate degree in business or a related field with at least one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field with two years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with sound judgment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast‑paced public‑safety environment.
