BS/MD Physician Advisor

About the role

We are seeking motivated physicians who have completed a U.S. direct‑medical program (BS/MD, BA/MD, BS/DO, or BA/DO) to mentor high‑school students through the competitive BS/MD/BS/DO admissions process. This remote, part‑time position involves guiding students from school list creation to interview preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate candidates’ academic records, test scores, coursework, and extracurricular activities.
• Edit personal statements and supplemental essays, ensuring authenticity and alignment with each student’s profile.
• Collaborate with college advisors to develop customized school lists and application timelines.
• Prepare students for admissions interviews and manage ongoing check‑ins throughout the cycle.
• Support families, set expectations, and foster student responsibility.

Required profile

• MD or DO (attending preferred; residents/fellows considered).
• Successful graduate of a U.S. BS/MD, BA/MD, BS/DO, or BA/DO program.
• First‑hand knowledge of the BS/MD/BS/DO admissions process.
• Experience mentoring or advising pre‑medical students; admissions committee experience preferred.

Required skills

• Strong editing and writing ability for college and BS/MD application materials.
• Proficiency with Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Word.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
