Branding Summer Intern

About the role

Moody's Data Story Team is looking for a Branding Summer Intern to join a 10‑week, full‑time program in New York. You will work on both data visualization and brand design, turning raw data into compelling visual stories that support the Moody's brand.

Key responsibilities

• Explore real‑world datasets, identify visual opportunities, and craft editorial narratives around complex global themes.
• Design and build interactive and static chart components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and data‑visualization libraries.
• Support digital design projects across the brand portfolio, including editorial layouts, marketing assets, and digital templates.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, data analysts and subject‑matter experts in a cross‑functional team.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data visualization, graphic design, computer science, journalism or a related field.
• Graduation expected between May 2028 and June 2029 and available to work June 7 – August 13 2027.
• Strong attention to detail, self‑motivation and ability to work independently while being collaborative.

Required skills

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Familiarity with data‑visualization libraries such as D3 or Three.js.
• Basic knowledge of Python, R or Node.js for data analysis.
• Exposure to Svelte or other JavaScript frameworks (preferred).
• Understanding of geospatial tools like QGIS or Mapbox (preferred).
