Bookkeeper (Associate) - U.S. CPA Firm Support

About the role

A U.S.-based CPA firm is hiring a proactive Bookkeeper (Associate) to support small businesses. The position is office-based, covers U.S. business hours, and focuses on daily transaction processing, bank and credit card reconciliations and month-end preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Record and classify income, expenses, deposits, bills, payments and journal entries.
• Perform bank, credit card, loan and balance-sheet account reconciliations.
• Audit transactions for missing receipts, duplicates, misclassifications or unusual activity.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable records, bill entries, invoicing and collections follow-up.
• Prepare bookkeeping schedules, basic financial reports and maintain organized digital workpapers.
• Assist with catch-up bookkeeping and client cleanup projects using established checklists.

Required profile

• 1-3 years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting-support experience.
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance and basic financial statements.
• Clear written and spoken English for interaction with U.S. teams.
• Willingness to work within U.S. business hours as needed.
• Preferred: prior experience supporting a U.S. CPA firm or U.S.-based clients; ACCA / CA coursework or a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; experience with payroll, sales tax, fixed assets and owner distributions; exposure to receipt-capture, workflow and practice-management tools.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop or a comparable accounting system.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets (sorting, filtering, formulas, lookup functions).
