Board‑Certified Psychiatrist (Part‑Time) – Goochland, VA

About the role

PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking a Board‑Certified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services in a correctional healthcare setting for an adult female population. This flexible part‑time position involves comprehensive evaluations, medication management and ongoing mental health treatment in a secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health disorders.
• Prescribe, monitor and manage psychiatric medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document all clinical activities in the electronic medical record and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Provide recommendations for additional behavioral health services, hospitalization or specialty care as needed.

Required profile

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school with completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency.
• Board Certified in Psychiatry, active Virginia medical license, current DEA registration and NPI.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
