Biomedical Equipment Technician – Field Role

About the role

This position supports the Multi‑Vendor Biomedical business for Philips in Columbia, SC. The Biomedical Equipment Technician provides on‑site installation, troubleshooting and service of a wide range of medical devices, ensuring customer satisfaction and equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and service repairs on biomedical equipment using service manuals, on‑the‑job training, OEM or third‑party resources.
• Identify and resolve customer issues, communicate effectively, and coordinate with site service personnel.
• Independently complete preventive maintenance (PM), field corrective orders (FCO), installations, and diagnose electronic, network and mechanical problems.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by demonstrating ownership and urgency in problem resolution.

Required profile

• Associate degree in electronics or equivalent; BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET preferred.
• 5+ years experience servicing medical equipment, preferably in patient monitoring, blood pressure monitors, defibrillators or infusion pumps.
• Working knowledge of electronic circuit boards, schematics, processors and computer hardware.
• Ability to apply electronic, mechanical and networking theory to install, diagnose and repair equipment.
• Proficient in reading schematics and site drawings with minimal assistance.
