Billing & Claims Specialist (Spanish Bilingual)

About the role

SafeRide Health is seeking a hands‑on Billing & Claims Specialist who is fluent in Spanish to support its growing non‑emergency medical transportation (NEMT) business. The role will elevate the billing function, ensure accurate claim processing, and help the company scale beyond $100M in annual revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate data processing and submit claims for NEMT and GMR rides.
• Reconcile billing data with encounter data and collaborate with operations to resolve discrepancies.
• Research benefit plans, interpret provider contracts, and configure system settings to address claim‑related issues.
• Communicate with providers, customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve claim disputes in line with Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
• Identify systemic issues affecting providers, such as EDI logic, authorization rules, or contract errors, and propose improvements.
• Develop and enforce billing policies and procedures that reflect industry best practices.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for billing projects and mentor junior team members.
• Implement scalable billing operations and generate financial reports for management and state/federal agencies.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in billing or claims management.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written).
• Experience or familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and CMS/HHSC regulations is preferred.
• Background in NEMT or transportation services is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
