Senior/Staff Data Scientist

About the role

FloatMe is seeking a Senior/Staff Data Scientist to transform product, customer and risk data into actionable insights that drive growth and risk management. You will own the full analytical lifecycle—from data exploration and metric definition to experimentation, forecasting and visual storytelling—while collaborating closely with Machine Learning Engineers to evaluate model performance and tie risk decisions to business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Convert complex product, customer and credit data into clear decision frameworks and measurement systems for product, risk and business teams.
• Lead end‑to‑end analysis, metric design, experiment planning, forecasting and visualization to support strategic decisions.
• Partner with ML Engineers to monitor model and policy performance, detect bias or drift, and link outcomes to product impact.
• Design and evaluate experiments, rollouts and policy changes that affect customer access, repayment behavior and product growth.
• Define and maintain measurement frameworks for eligibility, repayment, usage, loss performance, funnel health and long‑term customer outcomes.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to technical, product and senior leadership stakeholders.
• Set technical standards, build reusable frameworks, templates and scalable tooling to simplify data science work across teams.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience applying AI, machine learning or statistical modeling in decision‑making contexts such as credit, risk, fraud or recommendation systems.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Operations Research); PhD is a plus.
• Strong product and analytical judgment with the ability to turn ambiguous questions into rigorous analyses.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate and improve analytical workflows.
