Bartender – 89 Bar & Grill, Homewood Mountain

About the role

The Bartender at 89 Bar & Grill will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about mixology, enjoys interacting with people, and thrives in a lively environment.

Key responsibilities

• Mix and serve a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non‑alcoholic drinks, following standardized recipes and guest preferences.
• Greet guests warmly, take orders efficiently, and provide attentive service throughout their visit.
• Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and stock of glassware, garnishes, and liquor, and communicate inventory needs to the Bar Manager.
• Adhere to state and local alcohol laws, check IDs, and refuse service to intoxicated guests.
• Process payments, manage cash and credit card transactions, and balance the cash drawer at shift end.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year bartending experience, preferably in a fast‑paced, high‑end establishment.
• Current Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications, or ability to obtain them before start date.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and to handle high‑volume service periods.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, work indoors and outdoors in varying weather, and lift/carry items up to 50 lb.
