Azure Cloud Engineer – Government Cloud

About the role

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to manage and secure its government‑grade Azure environment. This remote, full‑time position focuses on platform reliability, monitoring, automation, and continuous compliance for Azure Government, GCC, and MAG workloads supporting Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Azure compute, networking, and storage services in government cloud environments.
• Configure monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident‑response processes using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Implement security baselines, continuous compliance, and ATO‑aligned controls.
• Manage SSL certificates, Azure App Registrations, and secret lifecycle in Azure Key Vault.
• Oversee log retention, storage optimization, and cloud cost‑management activities.
• Support patching, maintenance, release coordination, and infrastructure automation via Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with application, security, DevOps, and government stakeholders to resolve production issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and compliance evidence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 + years of hands‑on Microsoft Azure experience supporting enterprise platforms.
• Experience with Azure Government or other regulated cloud environments.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to meet VA security and suitability requirements.
