Avionics Engineer

About the role

Reflect Orbital is seeking an Avionics Engineer to take ownership of electronic subsystems for its first spacecraft. You will design, build, test, and qualify space‑ready components, working autonomously in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own avionics system‑level design, interfaces, and trade studies.
• Prototype, design, bring up, and validate flight computers, communication systems, and power electronics.
• Develop in‑house test infrastructure such as flatsat, GPS, power, and communications simulators.
• Execute qualification testing for vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal‑vacuum environments and transition hardware to flight operation.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of avionics or electronics engineering experience, preferably on spacecraft.
• Hands‑on experience designing and validating PCBAs for high‑reliability, space‑like environments.
• Proven ability to own multiple high‑reliability electronics subsystems from concept through deployment.
• Comfort working with a high degree of autonomy and iterating on requirements in constrained trade spaces.
