AV Engineer I

About the role

The AV Engineer I is a member of Georgetown University’s Capitol Campus Information Systems Technology Audiovisual Engineering group. This role oversees the technical operation, maintenance, and integration of all audiovisual systems across classrooms, conference rooms, and other supported spaces on the Capitol Campus.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain digital and analog audiovisual interfaces, video‑conferencing hardware/software, and television production equipment.
• Research, inventory, install, and integrate new AV equipment and services.
• Manage small‑scale AV projects from planning through execution.
• Provide on‑site support to senior administrators, faculty, students, and vendors, including VIP guests.
• Ensure safety compliance while handling equipment up to 100 lb and working from ladders or scaffolding.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of audiovisual experience, preferably in an educational environment.
• Ability to multitask and work under stress to complete complex setups.
• Crestron Commercial Technician/Field Engineer Certification.
• TesiraFORTÉ Certification.
• Physical ability to lift items up to 100 lb and use safety gear (gloves, eye and ear protection).
• Flexible schedule: Monday‑Friday 1:30 pm‑10:00 pm with potential overtime, evenings, and weekends.
