Automotive Shop Foreman/Dispatcher

About the role

Dale Howard Auto in Iowa Falls is seeking an experienced Automotive Shop Foreman/Dispatcher to lead the service department. You will oversee daily shop operations, ensure high‑quality repairs, manage technician schedules, and maintain customer satisfaction in a fast‑paced, air‑conditioned environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of automotive technicians, delegating tasks based on skill level and workload.
• Dispatch work efficiently, create accurate estimates, and monitor labor capacity and performance.
• Perform final inspections of completed jobs, address rework, and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty policies.
• Coordinate daily schedules, track repair orders in the dealer management system, and resolve workflow bottlenecks.
• Communicate with service advisors and customers to set expectations and resolve concerns.
• Enforce safety, environmental, and documentation standards throughout the shop.
• Assist in productivity reporting, goal setting, and achieving service revenue targets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or automotive training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Relevant certifications or licenses required by state law and vehicle manufacturers.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions and use hand/power tools.
• Physical ability to stand long periods, lift up to 70 lb, and perform repetitive motions.
