Associate Medical Director – Clinical & Operational Leader

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Associate Medical Director to provide both clinical and operational leadership within a mission‑driven healthcare organization in Los Angeles. The role blends direct patient care with supervision of advanced practice providers, quality‑improvement initiatives, and oversight of clinical workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, delivering coaching, performance evaluations, and mentorship.
- Oversee provider scheduling, staffing, onboarding, productivity, and clinical workflow optimization.
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to develop and implement clinical protocols and quality‑improvement projects.
- Provide direct patient care and support the education of medical students and residents.
- Monitor provider performance, conduct peer reviews, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Address patient concerns and foster a collaborative, patient‑focused environment.
- Review operational reports and assist with clinical resource management.
Required profile
- MD or DO with an active, unrestricted California medical license.
- 3–5 years of clinical experience; community health center experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or provider‑supervision experience.
- Familiarity with managed‑care programs and quality‑improvement initiatives.
- Experience with OCHIN EPIC preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Bilingual in Spanish, Korean, or Russian is a plus.

- EPIC (OCHIN) electronic health record system.
