Associate General Counsel

About the role

Range is seeking an Associate General Counsel to own a wide range of legal issues, including contracts, transactional work, and regulatory matters. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will be the primary legal partner for business teams, delivering quick agreement turnarounds and clear guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, revise, and negotiate commercial agreements such as vendor, SaaS, technology contracts, and NDAs.
• Manage contracts through their full lifecycle and develop templates and playbooks to accelerate volume.
• Partner with compliance on regulatory matters for the investment adviser and broker‑dealer businesses, including marketing reviews and member‑facing disclosures.
• Support the Chief Legal Officer with regulatory inquiries, examinations, and corporate transactions including financings, M&A diligence, and equity documentation.
• Provide plain‑English legal guidance to product, engineering, finance, sales, marketing, and operations teams.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in a U.S. state bar (VA, DC, or MD preferred).
• In‑house legal experience at a technology, financial services, or fintech company.
• Background in corporate/transactional or regulatory work, ideally with both law firm and in‑house experience.
• Proven ability to independently draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements at volume.
• Strong business judgment and excellent communication skills.
