Corporate Counsel II – Mission Systems Sector

About the role

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel II to support its Mission Systems Sector. The role will be based in Linthicum, MD (with possible locations in Falls Church or McLean, VA) and may include relocation assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on the pursuit, capture, negotiation, execution, and administration of U.S. Government and commercial prime contracts and sub‑contracts.
• Advise and coordinate with internal business and legal specialists on intellectual property, environmental, health and safety, real estate, human resources, internal investigations, supply chain, export/import compliance, litigation, and employment & labor relations matters.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate and active state bar membership.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant U.S. Government contracting experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Experience in U.S. Government and commercial contracting gained at a law firm, government agency, or in‑house legal department.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret complex legal concepts and communicate them effectively.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and other U.S. Government contracting regulations.
• Litigation and/or investigative experience.
• Experience supporting defense/intelligence community clients and complex commercial transactions.
