About the role

The State of Georgia seeks an Associate Director of Libraries to lead day‑to‑day operations of campus library services. Reporting to the Director of Libraries, this senior position supports strategic planning, oversees staff, and ensures high‑quality library experiences for students, faculty, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage campus library operations, including hours, staffing, budgeting, and fund allocation.
• Provide research, reference, circulation, and bibliographic instruction services.
• Supervise circulation functions, course reserves, inter‑library loans, and fine management.
• Act as Campus Librarian, representing the library at meetings and events.
• Coordinate department instructional initiatives and serve as the primary contact for purchasing and acquisitions.
• Maintain a clean, quiet, and welcoming environment conducive to study.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership experience in library or information services.
• Strong understanding of academic library operations and user needs.
• Ability to develop policies, procedures, and budgets.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with faculty, staff, and external partners.
