Associate Director of Graduate Studies – Addiction Policy & Practice

About the role

The Associate Director of Graduate Studies (ADGS) supports the Addiction Policy and Practice (APP) Program within the School of Health. Reporting to the Office of the Dean, the ADGS ensures smooth administration, compliance with university policies, and continuous improvement of the graduate experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the APP Director in aligning program policies with university guidelines and learner needs.
• Support faculty and the program chair in designing and executing community‑building activities.
• Organize informational webinars, manage communications for prospective and current students, and coordinate alumni outreach.
• Maintain faculty and student handbooks, as well as web‑based orientation materials.
• Provide semester‑long student support for class preparation, technology issues, and logistical matters.
• Conduct project‑management tasks, including evaluation of course feedback and departmental reporting.
• Refer students to academic and non‑academic resources and handle special requests such as credit transfers and leaves of absence.
• Collaborate with marketing professionals to execute strategic communications, recruitment, and social‑media initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in higher‑education administration or graduate program management.
• Strong understanding of university policies, admissions processes, and student services.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate across multiple university departments.
