Associate Director, Global Engagement

About the role

The Leadership Relations Team seeks an Associate Director to expand and activate Northeastern’s Global Volunteer Network. This senior position blends strategic planning with hands‑on execution, supporting volunteers, ambassadors, and leadership constituents worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, match, and retain volunteers across global networks, including Young Global Leaders and affinity groups.
• Integrate emerging leaders, students, alumni, and campaign volunteers to strengthen cross‑network collaboration.
• Develop and execute strategic communications, marketing, and signature events such as the Global Leadership Summit.
• Manage donor appeal projects, international donor stories, and global giving campaigns.
• Lead a small team of staff and student employees, overseeing hiring, training, and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years in alumni relations, advancement, volunteer management, or related field; higher‑education experience a plus.
• Proven experience recruiting and managing volunteer or leadership networks, event planning, and cross‑departmental partnership.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills with ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Self‑starter who thrives in fast‑paced, priority‑shifting environments and shows sensitivity to international cultures.
