Assistant/Associate/Professor – Trauma & Critical Care Surgery

About the role

The Louisiana State University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery is seeking a faculty member to join the Trauma and Critical Care Surgery team at University Medical Center – New Orleans. The appointment can be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, based on experience and scholarly stature.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership in trauma and surgical critical care.
• Teach Surgical Critical Care fellows, General Surgery residents, and medical students.
• Maintain an active scholarly program with publications and presentations.
• Participate in departmental and hospital administration initiatives.

Required profile

• MD or equivalent degree.
• Board certified/eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana and credentialed before hire.
• Demonstrated expertise in trauma and critical care management.
• Leadership experience and ability to work collaboratively.
