Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Critical Infrastructure Resilience (Coastal)

About the role

Northeastern University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks tenured/tenure‑track faculty at the assistant, associate, or full professor level to lead research on critical infrastructure resilience in coastal environments.

Key responsibilities

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in civil, coastal, and environmental engineering.
• Develop and lead a vigorous research program that attracts external funding.
• Mentor graduate students, post‑doctoral associates, and undergraduate researchers.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration across multiple colleges and research institutes.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.

Required profile

• Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in civil engineering, coastal/ocean engineering, or a related field.
• For associate level: minimum 4 years of academic or equivalent experience; for full professor: minimum 8 years.
• Demonstrated record of teaching excellence and scholarly achievement.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and experiential learning.
