Assistant Teaching Professor – Biology

About the role

The Department of Biology at Northeastern University seeks a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Assistant Teaching Professor to teach undergraduate courses and develop curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Teach multiple lecture sections each year, including Integrated Human Anatomy & Physiology and Inquiries in the Biological Sciences.
• Design and implement research‑based revisions to assigned courses and coordinate laboratory curricula.
• Provide one equivalent unit of service to the department/college/university and collaborate with other instructors.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in biological sciences or a closely related discipline.
• Experience teaching undergraduate lecture courses, preferably in anatomy and physiology.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities; ability to work with global student populations.

Required skills

• Curriculum development for biology courses.
• Course and laboratory design.
