Assistant Safety Officer

About the role

The Assistant Safety Officer supports the Campus Operations Environmental Programs team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This role assists in maintaining a safe campus environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting a culture of safety among staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conducting safety inspections and audits across campus facilities.
• Support incident reporting, investigation, and documentation processes.
• Help maintain compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of safety training and awareness programs.
• Maintain accurate safety records and assist in preparing reports for management.
• Collaborate with environmental programs to address hazardous material handling and waste disposal.

Required profile

• Legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established safety procedures.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with campus personnel.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
