About the role
The Department of Economics at LSU is seeking a tenure‑track Assistant Professor specializing in applied microeconomics. The appointment begins Fall 2027 and focuses on research, graduate teaching, and departmental service.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct high‑quality research in applied microeconomics and publish in peer‑reviewed journals (≈50% of effort).
- Teach senior‑level and graduate courses in applied microeconomics (≈40% of effort).
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees (≈10% of effort).
Required profile
- PhD in Economics or a closely related field (ABD candidates considered if PhD completed by August 2027).
- Demonstrated potential or record of excellence in research and teaching.
- 0–10 years of relevant academic experience.
