Assistant Director, Leadership Giving

About the role

The Assistant Director, Leadership Giving supports the Executive Director of Development in advancing Northeastern University's leadership giving program. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role collaborates with University Advancement and college staff to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors capable of giving $10,000‑$100,000.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of prospective donors at the leadership level, identifying those with potential to become major donors.
• Develop and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies, including face‑to‑face and virtual meetings.
• Log activities, create reports, and maintain data integrity in Salesforce.
• Collaborate across University Advancement and academic units to enhance donor engagement and achieve fundraising metrics.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in a development‑related environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external relationship building.
• Ability to work collaboratively, take direction, and adapt as the program evolves.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Salesforce for donor management.
