Assistant Community Manager – Student Living

About the role

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in daily financial and operational tasks for a student‑living community, handling rent collection, invoicing, and resident relations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and post rent, fees, and other payments, prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounts.
• Operate Yardi/OneSite property management software, ensuring accurate data entry and system integrity.
• Review resident files for unpaid balances, communicate with residents, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
• Process vendor invoices, code charges, and coordinate payments with owners.
• Assist with eviction procedures and represent the community in court when required.
• Supervise on‑site operations in the community manager’s absence, coordinating maintenance and daily tasks.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in residence life or property management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Communications or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of equity, inclusion, and compliance issues such as FERPA, Title IX, ADA.
• Strong written and verbal communication, detail‑oriented and self‑motivated.

Required skills

• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, OneSite, Entrata).
• Experience using THD (The Housing Director), PeopleSoft, MaxPanda or equivalents.
• Competent in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and database management.
