Assistant Community Manager – Central New Jersey

About the role

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of an apartment community in Central New Jersey. This full‑time position involves daily accounting tasks, resident interactions, and on‑site supervision to ensure smooth property operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and post rent, fees, and other payments; prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounts.
• Operate property management software (Yardi/OneSite) to enter transactions, maintain data integrity, and generate financial reports.
• Review resident files for unpaid balances, communicate with residents, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
• Process vendor invoices, code charges to the appropriate Chart of Accounts, and coordinate approvals.
• Assist with eviction procedures, move‑out processing, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Supervise on‑site staff in the Community Manager’s absence, coordinating maintenance and make‑ready tasks.
• Support owner relations by providing performance updates and responding to requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Communications, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in residence life or property management, with knowledge of lease terms and collections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail‑oriented and self‑motivated.

Required skills

• Proficiency with property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or Entrata.
• Strong skills in internet use, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs.
