Assistant Athletic Director – Annual Giving (Great Dane Athletic Club)

About the role

The University at Albany seeks an Assistant Athletic Director to lead the annual giving program for the Great Dane Athletic Club. This role supports the university’s $6 million annual unrestricted gifts campaign by cultivating and stewarding donors who support UAlbany athletics.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of athletics annual‑giving prospects and donors, handling qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
• Conduct outreach through face‑to‑face visits, phone calls, virtual meetings and event‑based engagement.
• Identify major‑gift potential and transition qualified prospects to the Associate Athletic Director for Development.
• Oversee daily operations of the Great Dane Athletic Club, including benefit tracking, seating and parking allocations, gift processing and game‑day logistics.
• Lead design and implementation of direct‑marketing and solicitation campaigns for athletics donors in partnership with the Office of Annual Giving.
• Coordinate with Donor Relations and athletics staff to enhance stewardship and donor experience.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree required.
• Experience in fundraising, annual giving or development, preferably in a collegiate athletics environment.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
