Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering

About the role

Northeastern University seeks tenure‑track faculty at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level to lead research and teaching in advanced manufacturing for future semiconductor materials and energy storage systems, aligned with CHIPS‑Act priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
• Mentor graduate students, post‑doctoral researchers, and supervise research projects.
• Develop an independent research program that attracts external funding and advances interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a closely related field by the start date.
• For Associate rank: minimum 4 years of academic or equivalent experience; for Full Professor rank: minimum 8 years.
• Demonstrated record of teaching excellence and scholarly productivity.

• Dry‑processing, solvent‑free electrode manufacturing.
• In‑situ/operando manufacturing metrology, process‑monitoring, and quality control.
