Application Packager (5+ Years Experience)

About the role

The law offices of Marshall Dennehey, a leading defense firm, is seeking an Application Packager for its Philadelphia, PA office. The packager designs, packages, tests, deploys and maintains enterprise software applications using Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), Microsoft Intune and App Deployment Toolkit, ensuring consistent, secure and efficient deployment with minimal disruption to end users. The role partners with Networking, Support Services, Information Security and other business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain application packages for SCCM/MECM, Intune and App Deployment Toolkit, including silent install, upgrade, repair and uninstall processes for MSI, MSIX, EXE and Intune Win32 apps.
• Develop, maintain and document PowerShell scripts for installation, configuration, deployment, remediation, detection, inventory and troubleshooting, and build packaging templates and automation.
• Test packages and scripts in a controlled environment, troubleshoot installation failures and coordinate user acceptance testing; document test evidence and rollback plans.
• Maintain an application catalog and inventory, manage upgrades and retirements, partner with Information Security on vulnerability remediation and support software asset management and license compliance.
• Investigate and resolve complex deployment issues, analyze logs, monitor deployment results and provide technical guidance to support teams.
• Establish packaging standards, naming conventions, documentation and quality checklists, and participate in change and release management.

Required profile

• Five or more years of hands-on experience in application packaging, software deployment, endpoint management or a closely related technical role.
• Experience testing and resolving installation, upgrade, dependency and compatibility issues.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation, manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating across teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune and App Deployment Toolkit.
• Windows installation technologies: MSI, MSIX, EXE, Win32 and silent installation.
• PowerShell for automation, detection, remediation and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Windows, registry, file system, services, scheduled tasks, environment variables and permissions.
• Preferred: SCCM/MECM and Intune administration, Entra ID, Active Directory, Windows Autopilot, Win32 Content Prep Tool, PSAppDeployToolkit, ITIL and mentoring experience.
