Application Engineer – Switchgear Solutions

About the role

The client seeks an Application Engineer to act as the technical bridge between sales, customers, and engineering for low‑voltage and medium‑voltage switchgear projects. You will develop accurate quotes, scope customer requirements, and ensure solutions meet project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial quotes for LV and MV switchgear projects.
• Scope customer requirements, review specifications and select appropriate switchgear configurations.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison among sales, customers, and internal engineering teams.
• Translate customer needs into clear technical requirements for design and engineering.
• Review project drawings and equipment requirements to support accurate proposals.
• Communicate solutions, clarify requirements, and address customer questions throughout the quoting process.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure feasibility and alignment with expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience quoting and scoping low‑voltage and/or medium‑voltage switchgear equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
• Demonstrated experience interacting directly with customers in a technical sales or application engineering capacity.
• Ability to interpret electrical specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
