About the role
The After School Lead Counselor supports the Kids After School Time Program by providing instruction, supervision, and guidance to participating children. This seasonal position may be designated as Lead Counselor based on experience and qualifications.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and participate in activities and programming for children, ensuring appropriate supervision.
- Provide direction to other counselors and resolve behavioral issues.
- Complete administrative tasks, maintain clean and organized facilities, and manage supply inventories.
- Enforce program safety policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties as needed to support program operations.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent with ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- One to two years of relevant experience, such as an apprenticeship, internship, or similar position.
- Knowledge of town, department, and program policies and procedures.
- Understanding of first‑aid principles.
Required skills
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with job‑related software.
